Hello
I am please to see tribal revival and efforts to regaining a healthy nation.
However, I am troubled to read that Indian people are still not seen as equal
human beings who are entitled to a healthy life.
This is evident in the 240 acres of land that is set aside for your new
rez. May I suggest you have the soil tested for toxicans, before you move
your people onto the land. If this was used for nuclear reactors building
there is a good chance the land is "active" with toxic waste which can cause
deformidies in later generations. Highly active waste has a "life" that can
last more then a few human generations. Many rez were targeted by the US
government as temporary storage sites because of soverignity status and also
in hopes of avoiding state and EPA restrictions, since permenant sites can
not be built until engineers can prove the storage sites will be safe -- they
have not been able to do so.
I am glad the health of both tribes are healing, but I would like to
caution that casinos and the issues they bring are small in comparison to
toxic waste contamination and its invisible attack.
