I am looking for information about good pow wows from May to
October (1995). I am mostly interested in attending pow wows that
have a long tradition (many years), are sponsored by tribes, and take
place outdoors. I would greatly appreciate any responses.
I am organizing a few tours each summer for small groups (10 to 15
people) of Japanese people who wish to visit pow wows and Native
Americans communities. Japanese people are generally very curious
about other cultures and histories. I think that they are sincere in
their interest to know about the true situation in other countries.
I could also use the knowledge, cooperation and support of native
peoples. One purpose for starting this business is to bring an
"appropriate" source of money flowing to reservations. Therefore, I
would like to meet more native people who run businesses related to
my tours i.e. stores, restaurants, lodging, tour guides, etc.
Of course, if anyone knows of further places and people for me to
promote my tours to in Japan, I would also be grateful for those
contacts. I will be making a promotional trip to Japan in November.
I have had a special experience by living in Japan for five years which
many Americans and Native Americans have not. I would like to use
my connections, knowledge and interests in a profitable business that
benefits not only myself but also contributes to others. I hope that I
can find some cooperation on Econet.
