First Peoples Archaeological Society

According to a note in the Sept/Oct 1994 issue of the Society
for American Archaeology Bulletin (p.19), a new organization
called the First Peoples Archaeological Society is currently
being formed. This organization "is to be a forum for native
peoples to examine their role as the investigators, researchers,
and interpreters of their own cultures (past, present, and
future)." All interested individuals are invited to contribute
their expectations, suggestions, and comments for this new
