To all,
The following message was forwarded to me from Wilkie Leith at George
Mason U. in VA. I pass it along as requested, perhaps someone needs willing
hands.
Wilkie and students were involved in preventing Disney from disturbing
approx. 17 ancient sites of the ancestors and helping to prevent that project
from happening in VA recently.

Contact either Wilkie, or myself if interested in any Volunteers.

John: Thanks for the various assistances you've sent to help our fledgling
"pre-program" here at GMU. I have yet another request. We conduct a program
called "Alternative Spring Break." This program attempts to connect students
who want a meaningful Spring break with groups who might provide
an organized week of activities in a Native American community. These
students will be available to do volunteer work, assist with community
projects, and exchange their help for the opportunity to learn about Native
cultures. My request: could you post to any lists (including NATCHAT) that
you know of which might elicit some interest? respondents can contact me at:
WLEITH@GMU.EDU
Thanks again,
Wilkie
P.S. Can we hope to see you at Native American Heritage WeeK Nov 14-18?
And this Thursday at 8pm Sherman Alexie will be reading. He's a great young
Native American writer. Come on over!
