The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Region 10 (EPA) is
recruiting an individual for assignment under the
Intergovernmental Personnel Act (IPA) for a position in Seattle
Washington. The assignment will be filled via an IPA agreement
with an eligible tribal organization and will extend for a period
of one to three years from the time that the agreement is
concluded. EPA will negotiate the IPA agreement with the Tribe
employing the individual selected. At the completion of the
assignment, the individual will return to their position with the
Tribe, or elsewhere. EPA will pay salary and benefits in
conjunction with this assignment.
Duties:
Facilitates the formulation and implementation of Region 10
activities to carry out EPA's National Tribal Policy. Serves as
the primary regional expert on policies and regulations affecting
Tribal lands. Develops a communications strategy to promote
information exchanges between Region 10 and Tribes. Works in
coordination with EPA senior managers and staff to develop and
carry out a program of effective government-to-government
relations with tribes. Promotes and coordinates training on
Tribal issues for Region 10 managers and staff, develops training
courses, and implements training within the region. Establishes
the general framework and process within the region for
development of individual Tribal Environmental Workplans. The
incumbent will be a member of the Regional Executive Team.
