What is meant by "proverbs" and "proverbs of any significance"??? If you
mean one-line sayings describing proper (or improper) behavioral patterns or
moral principals, they are everywhere in Indian country. If you mean
relatively short stories explaining why things are as they are or how things
work, they exist in every tribe, so far as I know. Having no idea what it
takes to be "of any significance" I won't go further, but I wonder . . . .
Is this like "Indians don't have a sense of humor" ??? or "feel pain"??? or
????? Maybe the ones you asked just didn't tell you.
