On June 23 1994 someone unidentified other than <GILLB@axe.humboldt.edu>
cross-posted to NATIVE-L an item by Sara Orel <FA55@NEMOMUS.BITNET or
FA55%nenomus@ACADEMIC.nemostate.edu> ARCH-L <arch-L@tamvm1.tamu.edu>
which dealt with this area.
Subject line reads: Archaeological sites for sale?
The posting refers to a photo Orel's brother took while driving in or near
Cortez, CO. The photo is of a sign advertising the sale of lots at a
planned residential development called "Indian Camp Ranch." She said
there was an address but only provided the name of the developer, which
was Hanson, situated in Templeton, CA.
I'm completely snowed with work, and apologize for not transcribing the
whole thing; but I hope this can help you pull the item from
the NATIVE-L archive. If you track down a publication name/date/volume
contact information for the "connecticut newspaper article," please post
to the net!
Thanks,
