Takelma Indians

I would greatly appreciate any help or information regarding the
Takelma Tribe of the Rogue Valley of Southern Oregon. Personal knowledge,
pictures, the whereabouts of ethnographies, field notes, etc. would all be
greatly appreciated. I am currently working with the Takelma Intertribal
Project (TIP) which is involved in a precedent setting Ecosystem
Stewardship Program of 18,000 acres in the Applegate Watershed AMA
(Adaptive Management Area as defined by Clinton's forest plan) Our goal is
to restore and manage the land in the same way as the original inhabitors
of this valley, the Takelma people. We are particularly interested in
information regarding "cool burns" and other such forestry methods
practiced by the Takelma, but any and all information is welcome and
needed. Thank you!
