There will be an ethnobotany lecture at the Daybreak Star Native
American Cultural Center/ Sacred Circle Gallery of Native American Art.
Nancy Turner from the University of Victoria, B.C. Environmental Studies
Program, Eugene Hunn from the University of Washington Anthropology
Department, and Arthur Kruckeberg from the U.W. Botany department will be
speaking.
The lecturers will discuss traditional uses of plants in the
Pacific Northwest. The lecture will also address issues of habitat and
cultural destruction in coordination with Native American Contemporary
Artist Mike Mac Donald's video instillations, "Secret Flowers" and
"Seven Sisters".
There will be a special viewing of the video instillations before
and after the lecture. The event begins at 6:30pm. For Directions
