I have recently been in touch with Prof. Ron Grimes concerning a study he
has been conducting for the past couple of years on attitudes relating to
the teaching of the religious beliefs and practices of indigenous peoples
(particularly those of North America) by non-Native people. Prof. Grimes
posted a request to several of the NativeNet lists when he began the study,
which resulted in a discussion taking place during several months in 1993.
He agreed to make any resulting article available to the lists for further
comment.

That article is now available by means of the "filelist" archives of the
NATIVE-L list at the TAMVM1 site. In order to obtain a copy of the file,
please send a message to "listserv@tamvm1.tamu.edu" containing the text:

get religion teach01 native-l

(that's the numeral "1" in "tamvm1" and the letter "l" in "native-l").

Though I am posting this announcement to NAT-EDU, NATIVE-L and NATCHAT,
I would like to recommend that all discussion take place on the NAT-EDU
list, since the subject relates primarily to education. If you are not
already a subscriber to NAT-EDU and would like to join, please send a
message to "listserv@indycms.iupui.edu" containing:

subscribe nat-edu Your Name

where "Your Name" is replaced by your own full name.

If you have any questions about these procedures, please get in touch
with me, using the address "gst@gnosys.svle.ma.us" (do not reply to
this message, since doing so would result in that message being trans-
mitted to the moderator of the list by means of which you received this
article). If you have any questions about the study, please contact
Prof. Ron Grimes ("rgrimes@mach1.wlu.ca").
