The INDIAN LAW RESOURCE CENTER, with offices in Helena, Montana and
Washington, D.C. is seeking candidates for the position of DIRECTOR OF
DEVELOPMENT. The Center is an international, non-profit law and advocacy
organization established and directed by American Indians. The organization
provides legal help to Indian and Alaska Native nations and tribes in
Central and South American in several major program areas: land rights;
environmental protection; native sovereignty and self-government;
international protection of human rights; and law reform.

The DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT will manage all activities related to the
planning, implementation and evaluation of fund raising and selected public
relations programs. Qualifications include: at least 5 years experience of
demonstrated successful experience in non-profit development; excellent
writing, budgeting, editing and oral communication skills, supervisory
experience, collaborative work style, ability to travel nationally, minimum
of BA/BS degree and understanding of and commitment to Indian Rights. The
position may be located in the Washington office, but the Center will
consider placing the position in the Helena office. In both cases it will
necessitate periodic trips to D.C. or Montana or other parts of the country.
