I remember a great deal of controversy a year or two ago about the
validity of <The Education of Little Tree>, purportedly the story of a
young Native American's education in the Depression. Part of it had to do
with the author's (later?) career as a white supremacist.
I would appreciate any citations as to news articles, scholarly articles,
etc. on the controversy. I am trying to backtrack this for students to
whom this book was recommended by another faculty member as a source for
Native American history. I want to tread lightly, but would like to look
at the sources.
Thanks in advance.

[ I recall quite a discussion on this subject that took place on the NATIVE-L
list several years ago, so there should be a fair bit of information on the
subject, from October 1992 and several months following, as I recall. I
will send a note to the author of this article, who is not on the NATIVE-L
mailing list. --Gary (gst@gnosys.svle.ma.us) ]
