Subject: Administration will demarcate Krikati Indian Area
We stated in the refered note that the Attorney General of
the Union will submit the demarcation of the Indian area Raposa/Serra
do Sol to the deliberation of the National Defense Council.
We explain that when we speak of the ''Attorney General of the
Union'' we refer, translating para o portugues, to the Advogado Geral
da Unia~o Geraldo Quinta~o and not the Procurador Geral da Repu'blica
Aristides Junqueira.
This clarification is important, in view of the fact that the
Procurador Geral da Repu'blica Aristides Junqueira considers the
opinion of the Advogado Geral da Unia~o Geraldo Quinta~o totally
unnecessary for the government to proceed with the process and
determine the demarcation of the Indian area Raposa/Serra do Sol.
