I am a woman, part Cherokee (1/16) and part Choctaw, living in the US. I own
and run May Day Press, a letterpress printery. Using a 100 year old press I
design and print cards, books, broadsides, and prints. Each year I put
particular focus on a "native project". In 1993, my first year, I
researched, designed, wrote, illustrated, and bound Book: A Cherokee Primer
- a 100 edition book about the Cherokee Language. In 1994 I did a 40 edition
book of How Earth Was Made, A Cherokee Myth - this book is already out of
print. This year I am doing an anthology of N. American Native women writers
illustrated with weaving patterns from rugs, blankets & baskets. (Feel free
to refer interested women writers to this e-mail address for guidelines.)

I would like to know more about your project if you are interested in me.
You can send to my friend Debita's e-mail address.

Thanks sincerely,

Catherine Michaelis
