I have been asked by the Ahousaht First Nation to post the following message
to the net:

Walk the Wild Side is a non-profit First Nations of Ahousaht women's
initiative, operated by a volunteer board of directors of 10 Ahousahts. It
is an eco-tourism operation combined with an art store, Arts of Paawac
Centre, which carries only authentic Ahousaht First Nations art work.

Ahousaht is a reserve of 800 people, the only village on Flores Island, 45
minutes by water taxi from Tofino, British Columbia, Canada. Our intent is
to create sustainable employment and training while fostering awareness of
the environmental and cultural legacy of the Ahousaht people in Clayoquot
Sound. Our entire operation was created by hundreds of hours of
volunteerism by Ahousaht women and men alike. No government funding has
been applied for nor received.

We would like to hear from others to exchange ideas and assist with
challenges faced. Please call/fax Susan Jones 1-604-670-9628 or write to
