I'm writing to ask folks for some help. I am part of a team putting
together what we hope will be a comprehensive bibliography of Native
American playwrights, plays, reviews, and scholarship. Our scope is
Native America, both Canadian First Nations' playwrights and U.S. Native
American playwrights. To date, we have identified more than 50
playwrights, and we are certain we will find many, many more.

We have received enormous help from Native Earth in Toronto and from
community theaters and support centers in various cities. The
information, unfortunately, is wide-spread and difficult to locate.
Especially hard to find are reviews of plays that have been produced.

If any of the subscribers to this list can pass along information to
us, that information would be particularly useful. Our goal is to
produce a source that will provide information to the folks who need
it (scholars, producers, directors, other playwrights), while
simultaneously (we hope) bringing greater attention to playwrights
producing excellent work, work that deserves to be better known.

If you have information about playwrights, plays, productions, or
reviews, please respond to the list, or e-mail me directly at:

If you have materials such as scripts (produced or unproduced), reviews,
or any other related matter, we would be delighted to see them. We
hope, during this project, to interest a publisher in two anthologies
of drama, one from each side of the U.S/Canada border. Should you
have something to surface mail, please send it to:

All of us associated with this project thank you for your help.
