A conference on "Decolonizing Knowledge: Indigenous Voices from the
Americas" will take place at Smith College, Northampton, MA, from Friday,
May 5 in the evening to Sunday, May 7 at 6pm.

The conference is intended to continue a series of meetings on "comparative
scientific traditions." Participants include members of an indigenous NGO
in Peru named PRATEC (Andean Project for Peasant Technologies), whose work
was featured in _Daybreak_ magazine's most recent issue (Daybreak is
published quarterly by the Native Studies Component of the American Studies
Department at SUNY Buffalo; $12/yr; PO Box 315, Williamsville, NY

Also attending the conference will be people from the Kuna nation (panama),
Miskito Nation (Honduras), Bri Bri nation (Costa Rica), Oneida Nation (US),
Lakota Nation (US), and Cree Nation (Canada).

Registration deadline is April 15, 1995. Fee is $30 ($15 for students;
