I am posting the following position for Harvard's Graduate School of

Director, Harvard Native American Program. Gr. 57.
Req. # 54595

Reports to the Dean of Administration and Academic Services, Graduate
School of Education, but entails University-wide responsibilities. Oversees
general program operations, encompassing planning, implementation,
evaluation, personnel, and budgetary function. Provides leadership and
direction for development activities, special events fund raising and
corporate solicitation. Provides overall leadership and direction in
educational, cultural, and social programs, activities, and services for
Native American students. In conjunction with the various admissions
offices, coordinates the recruitment of Native American students to the
School and University. Provides extensive support services to Native
American students, including academic and career advisement and financial
aid assistance. Advises and supports Native American student
organizations. Researches critical issues in Native American education.
Serves as resource on Native American issues and concerns for the
University community. Disseminates information on Native American
education to the University community and general public. Develop students
programs, activities, and forums for the GSE and University communities,
and the general public. Develops and manages program and special projects
budgets. Supervises work of small program staff, work-study students, and
volunteers.

REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree required, earned doctorate preferred; proven
track record of fund raising accomplishments; student service experience;
proven program planning and management experience; strong organizational
skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; supervisory and
teaching experience; desire to teach courses in Native American education
strongly preferred.

NOTE: This position includes the opportunity to teach a course in Native
American education. This position is funded through June 30, 1996.
Continuation of position is dependent on developing new funding sources.
