I want some clarification and information regarding the
tribe/nation referred to as Huron and or Wyandot(te).

Was Huron referring to the confederacy of tribes?

Is Wyandot(te) the name referring to the tribe/nation?

The reason I ask is because I was at the Huron Cemetery
over in Kansas City, KS. There are 10 plaques with the
history of the Huron/Wyandot(te). Quite interesting, but
a challenging time in history for these people!!!

Is the cemetery still owned by the tribe/nation?

Is it correct to use tribe referrring to the native peoples or is
nation more politically correct? Just curious!!!

Any information provided will be most appreciated!!!!

Thanks,

Tim McElhenie
