Beginning TONIGHT, May 8, PBS (KQED in SF Bay Area) will be broadcasting
a program called THE AMERICAN EXPERIENCE: THE WAY WEST, a two part series.
In the Bay Area it will run to 8 pm to 11 pm. I just happened to hear the
phrase "Manifest Destiny" and turned to the "commercial" but didn't hear
all of it ... TV Log says ""Westward, the Course of Empire Takes its Way/
The Approach of Civilization" Expansion fosters confrontations between
American Indians & settlers; railroads threaten to destroy remaining Buffalo
ranges.
