Mining Impacts and Native Peoples

I am in the process of producing a comprehensive survey of the validity of
Assessments of Environmental and Socio-economic Impacts from mining
development on Native communities and Tribes in North America. I want to
consider EVERY instance of Tribal consideration in an EIS process.

I am requesting information on mining and Tribes in North America. Ideally,
if there is a source that includes coverage of a large number of these
instances that would facilitate my search for EIS documents. However,
individual notifications of Tribe/mine situations is need to include cases
not considered in larger treatments of the issues.

I live in Wisconsin, and I am familiar with the situations in Wisconsin, and
to lesser extents Minnesota, Michigan, and Northeast Oklahoma, but I am not
as familiar with the situation in the Southwest, Rocky Mountains or Alaska
(any others?).

Anyone with an interest in these issues, or who might assist my search
please feel free to contact me at gwchism@students.wisc.edu.
