Speaking of Jay (Brummett), I hope he will be back with us soon,
and that he'll be able to resume his responsibilities as moderator
of the NATIVE-L and NATCHAT mailing lists, and that we will soon
have in place others who will serve as alternate moderators. I
received a number of replies to my request a bit over a week ago,
and will soon be contacting those people who replied to give more
details on how they can start preparing themselves to become moder-
ators of one or more of the NativeNet lists.
I have spent the weekend working on the software for the lists, in
order to make it easier for moderators to carry out their responsi-
bilities and to make it less likely that submitted articles might
accidentally get lost or delayed.
If anyone else is interested in serving as a list moderator, please
get in touch with me. In addition to being very familiar with the
NativeNet lists and how they operate, it will also be necessary that
you are very comfortable using a text editor on whatever computer
system you are using. There are also certain requirements of your
electronic mail software which I will discuss with those who are
otherwise interested in becoming moderators.
Once I get more caught up, I'll be sending out a number of articles
dealing with various projects in which I hope NativeNet list members
might be interested in becoming involved.
Best regards to you all,
Gary
