Hello, everyone -- I know this was discussed sometime last year, but I
wanted to ask here and now if anyone objects to my bringing abut 10
students on to NATIVE-L for the next 4 weeks? I am teaching a summer
class in Native American Indian Governments and Politics. Several are
Native, most are not. Most are likely to unsubscribe after the course is
over. All will probably have research questions and will otherwise
mostly learn and lurk. We are reading EXILED IN THE LAND OF THE FREE, my
book on international indigenous activism, and a selection about about 20
articles and readings on three contemporary topics: economy, politics and
identity/culture. We are also watching films on the Western Shoshone
land claims, boarding schools, Wounded Knee/Peltier and Black Hills. If
there are no objections, they will be joining later this week.
