Aloha Kakou (greetings all):

In Hawai`i we have a broad range of "Native" music, which runs
the spectrum from ancient traditional chants to jazz to "lava" rock to
our own blend of Jamaican/Hawaiian called Jawaiian. If anyone is
interested I can respond and give artist names and album titles. One
recent album (cd) I have heard which really impressed me was by a female
group from Aotearoa (New Zealand) comprised of all Maori ladies. This
group is called Moana and the Moa Hunters. I believer they performed up
in the NorthWest U.S. at some pow wows, so perhaps some of my N. American
cousins have also heard them. Their music is a blend of jazz, hip-hop,
reggae, and Maori - very interesting and upbeat. Aloha, Scott
