PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. (CP)--More than 600 people were evacuated from
the native community of Patuanak, Sask., on Tuesday when flames from a
huge forest fire began to threaten their town. Another 170 people were
moved from the town of Hall Lake earlier in the day. Meanwhile, forest
fires forced about 400 people to leave the northeastern Alberta native
community of Janvier.
