ALERT and CALL FOR SUPPORT!

HAWAIIAN NATIONAL/DIPLOMAT SEEKS PROTECTION WITH NATION OF HAWAII FROM
ILLEGAL PROSECUTION AND ARREST, UNITED STATES THREATENS

Mr. Keaka Makuaole (aka Jack Gonzales), a Hawaiian national and Consul
General of the Nation of Hawaii, has presented evidence to the Supreme
Court of the Nation of Hawaii that he has been illegally tried and
convicted of fraud in a US federal court. He has claimed that, not only
did the court not have jurisdiction over him as a Hawaiian national, but
that he was unable to receive a fair hearing, and that evidence indicating
his innocence was not allowed into the proceedings.

The Nation of Hawaii Supreme Court, based on such evidence presented to it,
ruled on Tuesday, June 6, that the US District Court for the Western
District of Washington, which tried Makuaole, "does not and did not have
subject matter or personal jurisdiction over Makuaole, nor over the
territory upon or in which the alleged offenses occured." The Nation's
Hawaii Supreme Court has jurisdiction over the case, which involves a
Hawaiian national and occured in Hawaii, and is willing to provide an
impartial forum for Mr. Makuaole, and his accusers, to present evidence in
order that he may receive a fair hearing which was denied him, so that his
innocence or guilt may be clearly determined before a jury of his peers
(other Hawaiian nationals).

However, federal agents are now actively seeking to arrest Mr. Makuaole,
and are making threatening and misleading statements to the media about Mr.
Makuaole and the Nation of Hawaii.

Mr. Makuaole is a diplomatic agent of the Nation of Hawaii, serving as the
Consul General, and has diplomatic immunity from prosecution and arrest by
a foreign government.

The Nation of Hawaii now seeks support from US citizens and the
international community to carefully observe the actions of the United
States, and to provide a voice in support of the Nation.

We seek justice. We seek to avoid confrontation and conflict. We request
your support to do so.

THE ISSUE IS JURISDICTION

The United States has officially acknowledged the unrelinguished "inherent
sovereignty" of the Native Hawaiian people (US Public Law 103-150, Nov. 23,
1993).

The definition of "sovereignty" includes, "the international independence
of a state, combined with the right and power of regulating its internal
affairs without foreign dictation." (Black's Law Dictionary, Sixth Edition)

The Nation of Hawaii has followed well-founded principles of international
and customary law to establish a rightful authority and jurisdiction for
our citizens, and the archipelago of Hawaii, which now rests on the Hawaii
Constitution of Jan. 16, 1995.

The Nation of Hawaii has received repeated de facto recognition from
President Clinton and the White House as a legitimate sovereign entity, and
is in negotiation for recognition with other sovereign nations.

The United States is illegally occupying Hawaii, and their courts do not
have any lawful jurisdiction over the citizens of the Nation of Hawaii.

The issue at this point is not one of Mr. Makuaole's guilt or innocence,
but of jurisdiction, of who can rightfully and lawfully make such a
determination. The Nation's Hawaii Supreme Court, and not any United
States court, is the recognized jurisdiction for hearing any case involving
the nationals and citizens of Hawaii. The Hawaii Supreme Court has issued
its decision detailing the lack of jurisdiction by the United States over
this case, which has been forwarded to the US Federal Court, the US
Department of State, and the US Department of Justice.

Mr. Makuaole, as Consul General, is a diplomatic agent of the Nation of
Hawaii and any actions taken against him, or against any other offices or
persons of the Nation of Hawaii, will constitute severe violations of
customary and international law, of conventions and protocols governing
diplomatic agents and internationally protected persons, as well as
apartheid, war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide.

The United States has apologized for the first overthrow in 1893 - do they
now conspire towards another one?

FALSE STATEMENTS BY UNITED STATES AGENTS

The United States Marshall in Hawaii, Annette Kent, has speculated in the
media that the Nation of Hawaii may be "fortifying" the village of
Pu`uhonua O Waimanalo, the headquarters of the Nation, against federal
action. This statement was blatantly false and purely speculative, and no
evidence to substantiate these claims was presented, as there was none.
The media presented these claims without investigation into the facts. The
media also directly stated that Mr. Makuaole "has sought refuge at the
Nation of Hawaii's 'Pu`uhonua O Waimanalo' compound," presumably based on
speculation by the US Marshall, without any facts to verify this statement.

Is the United States attempting to set up a confrontation against the
Nation of Hawaii, to justify violent action against this totally lawful and
legitimate Nation and our people, who seek to peacefully, nonviolently
restore what the United States stole over a century ago, their independence
and sovereignty, and to provide justice?

The Nation of Hawaii has granted refuge (puuhonua) to Mr. Keaka Makuaole as
a Hawaii National, seeking protection from unlawful arrest and prosecution
by a foreign government. The Nation is not "harboring a fugitive."
Although the Nation is providing legal/political protection to Mr.
Makuaole, he is not residing at the Nation's headquarters, the village of
Puuhonua O Waimanalo. Mr. Makuaole is in hiding to avoid confrontation
with the de facto force of the agents of the United States acting under
color of law. The United States does not presently have in effect a treaty
with the Nation of Hawaii governing international extradition.
