Having just returned from New Brunswick, I have read several
different accounts from several different newspapers and agree
with most of what Frosty said. I would like to point out that I
am only passing on the information that I read in the
newspapers and have not spoken to anyone involved in the
dispute.

The Mic Mac Warriors group is made up of mostly people who do
not belong to the Eel Ground Reserve. And at one point Chief
Augustine asked the Warriors to leave his reserve and they
refused.

Tonight I heard that the Warriors will leave the reserve if
the DFO (Dept of Fisheries & Oceans) will 1) lift the barrier
net that they have in place in the lower part of the river
(effectively trapping the salmon and other fish from reaching
the spot where the Warriors are) and 2)drop the charges against
the fishermen who were arrested for illegal fishing. I believe
these charges include using an illegal gill net, obstruction of
justice and someone mentioned assult.

Again, I would like to point out that I'm only relating the
news and hope I have not left out any important items relating
to this matter.
