Hi,
My name is Don, I'm Lheit-lit'en (Carrier from B.C.) and I'm doing archival
research here at the Canadian Museum of Civilization in Ottawa. This summer
I've been surfing the Net (among other things) for institutions and libraries
that have their archives and/or libraries on-line. By far, the most enriching
source of info is SIRIS (Smithsonian Institutions Research Information System).
If you have telnet capability, you can search SIRIS at
You can search any name, subject, keyword (historical, anthropological,
ethnographical...) either through the Smithsonian Libraries and/or Smithsonian
Archives.
I ran through the ARC (Archives) and did a search K=CAYUSE (k is keyword) and
came up with the following:
Search Request: K=CAYUSE Archives & Manuscripts
Search Results: 208 Entries Found Keyword Index

There are 208 records, most are photographs but some manuscripts and basically
you type a number, the info comes on the screen and you then you can
cut-and-paste (I have to use my clipboard) into a suitable environment.
If you need more information, you can access the SIRIS WWW info page at:
http://www.si.edu/resource/library/start.htm
If anyone needs help with your research, post me and I'll help you the best
that I can.
Good luck and hope this helps.
