Michnam Menimoma, my people my friends and relatives. My name is John D.
(wowkaly - mischief maker) Halliday I am from the Dog River Band of the
Wasco on the Columbia River and am also Muckelshoot from southern puget
sound.

> From what I know these people are my cousins. I also have Warm
Spings blood from the river. This is not our original name but one
thought up when several bands came together to sign our treaty in
WallaWalla in 1855. This also so is the same fait for the Cayuse. I
think that they where divided up by where they lived, some became
Yakima(Washington), some umitilla and some Warm springs (Oregon). The
Cayuse are one of the bands of the Yakima in Washington and also part of
the Umitilla and Warm Springs in Oregon (we are all related anyway). I am
not an authority but I only know that several people I know have their
blood. However I can assure you that they are Sahaptan (spelling ?)
speakers and Washet religon or the seven drum people as are many from the
Columbia River Eastern Cascades.

Respectfully: John D. Wowkaly Halliday
Dare to be Coyote!
