This year the organization's interest in Indian families is expressed in
its committment to sponsor a mini Pow-wow during the conference. This
Pow-wow is being co-sponsored by the Religion and Family Life, Ethnic
Minorities, and Research and Theory Sections. It will be from 8pm-10pm
in the Rose Ballroom of the Portland, OR Hilton, Friday, Nov.17 (The
first one that I have ever heard of happening at the Hilton). It will
feature students from Chemawa Indian School, Portland State (United
Indian Students of Higher Education Drum), Bob Tom (Siletz) as MC,
Selene Rilatos Lynch (Siletz) as Whipwoman, and Vincent Wannassay as
Whipman. Everyone is welcome, please come and share your Indian family
interests with some of the leaders nationally in the fields of family
research, policy, education, therapy, etc.
