Natalie --
You might be interested in checking out Diane Bell's _Daughters of
the Dreaming_ (Minneapolis: University of Minnesota Press; 1st
edition 1983; Second 1993). Bell received her Ph.D. at the
Australian National University but is now living in
Worcester, Massachusetts, USA and working at College of the Holy
Cross. Her book focuses on Australian Aboriginal women (Warlpiri
people) in the Warrabri area of Australia and is an interesting work
in the anthropology of gender.
Hope this helps and happy reading!
