Try opening a discussion in the alt.religion.shamanism newsgroup.

One thing a lot of folks seem to be forgetting these days is shamanism is a
world-wide religion practiced by many, many different native peoples--not
just native americans.

You may want to explore the teachings of something like the Celtic shamans
and how it pertains to your topic.

Or are you just interested in white folks teaching what they call "Native
American shamanism?" If this is the case, you may want to explore just how
many Native American cultures actually have shamanic practices. You just
might find that it's not very many!
