When you say Alaskan people are native americans - which ones are we
talking about? The Athabascan are American Indians, the Eskimo are not
American Indians and do not like to be called American Indians. The
"Eskimo" Yupik, northern slope people are part of the circumpolar north
and they may be accepting of the term shaman, but by and large most
American Indians including myself are not.
