The Willamette Valley Sacred Site Preservation Committee is a group of
people from different clans in the Pacific Northwest. We are keeping up
with what is taking place with the SunBow 5 Walkers. All our sacred
sites here in the northwest are being invaded upon. Several years ago
the Smithsonian Institute and the University of Oregon loaded up box cars
with human remains and their belongings and took them away, to where? We
are searching for our ancestors and their belongings. We need help from
people in every state to check their museums, colleges, etc.
Kalapooya, Yoncalla, Santiam, Mollala, Clackamus, are but a few names.
We need people to join our Kalapooyas Nation Sacred Circle Alliance. We
hope to receive land (like an Arlington Cemetery) to rebury our relatives
once we receive them along with their belongings.
Here in Oregon they teach at schools that all Kalapooya people are dead
and gone. Not true. This area has been devastated because of the
natural resources. We have no land base. Not allowed to protect our
Sacred Sites, Burial Grounds, fish, hunt or to establish our way of life.
