I'm not Native American (should I preface my posts each time like
that?), but I got one of those last year. I called up the place to
find out someting that bothered me. I noticed an
overwhelming number of pieces of jewelry and decorations that were of
christian origin. I guess I don't know how an authentic Native
American culture or business can represent the very religion that was
used to supress, destroy, and murder them. I threw the catalog away
on my own judgment. I don't know how others feel about it because
there are some very devout Native American christians from what I
hear. I don't want to step on their toes, but I also don't feel it is
right for ME to support a belief system that destroyed their own.
There are better ways to get help to the needy than thru
spirit-destroying christian missions. I can't justify perpetuating
the pain I guess. But then, if their intent was/is to sell jewelry to
the very christians that caused all the problems, to finally benefit
from them -- that I could understand. In that case, I would feel bad
if I said something that would lessen their sales.

(please don't flame me, I'm doing the best I can with the info I have
at heart)
