Amanaka'a Amazon Network is a New York-based, nonprofit educational
organization with a simple mission - to support the peoples of the Amazon
Rainforest in their efforts to live and work in harmony with their environment.
We believe social justice and the environment are inseparable. We share the
belief that peoples control their own destiny and that all peoples should be
respected for their ways of life. This translates into supporting their
movements, respecting their ideas and their proposals. Amanaka'a acts as a
center of information for activists and the North American public, providing
direct access to the social movements of the Amazon and concrete courses of
action. We channel proposals, organize activist campaigns, and arrange
meetings for leaders of the forest-floor movements.
