Dear Anyone,
I am a student at WSU in Pullman, WA. and I have just subscribed to the
natchat list serve. I am trying to find out something about my relations.
One of my grandmothers was a Pennacook from near Concord, New Hampshire.
It is difficult to find out anything about the tribe so far from its home.
The language spoken was, I belive, Western Abnaki. According to one of the
language info nets, there are under twenty remaining speakers of Western
Abnaki left. I would very much like to communicate with anyone who knows
anything about Western Abnaki or the Pennacook tribe. I have read that
some people migrated to Canada long ago. I hope you can send some
information to me to help in my search. sincere thanks LeaAnn Wood
