CBC news just released the story that the only person convicted in the
death of Betty Osborne, which took 16 years to come to trial despite
everyone's knowledge of who the killers were, has been released to day
parole. Although convicted in Manitoba, he is in a half-way house in
Abbotsford; he was to serve life with no possibility of parole for 10
years (he was convicted, I believe, in 1987).
Picked up by four young men on her way home, she was stabbed 51
times with a screwdriver and her naked body thrown in a snowdrift.
Because she was a Native girl , little in depth investigation was done
and since the suspects were white the case was pushed aside for 16 years.
Do you think that mail to the government of Manitoba could help
local leaders in their efforts to have the parole revoked?
