need help with indigenous gathering

I am searching for information about foods gathered by indigenous people
from the New England area. I would like any information that can be
given about what kinds of plants, fungi, etc. have been gathered, what
their uses are, how they are gathered, and possibly where they are
gathered. I am conducting this search for a college class on
Native American environmental perception. I would appreciate any
help that could be given. Thank you.
