Barry T. Klein wrote a book called "The Reference Encyclopedia of the
American Indian." The Seventh Edition is now available from Todd
Publications (with whom I have no connection) at (914) 358-6213. It
has a wonderful bibliography. I checked, and there are approximately
70 listings under the listing of "Medicine/Shamanism." It cost me $80
(including shipping), arrived less than a week after I called... It
might be a good place to start looking...
