My name is Michael Duran. I am of Chicano/Apache descent and currently an
undergraduate student at UC Santa Cruz.
I am conducting research for an annotated bibliography of the Mimbre
Apache. Unfortunately, there is not much information available. I do know
that the Mimbre are part of the Chiricahua band, of the Eastern Apaches,
and that some of the descendants live on the Mescalero, San Carlos and
Fort Sill reservations, but cannot find any comtemporary information on
them. If anyone has any information, primary or secondary, on books,
articles, documents, music, art, that may be of assistance, I would
really appreciate the help.
The purpose of my research is to learn a little more about my heritage,
but also to send back to the aforementioned reservations in hopes that it
