Just off the top of my head, with no references before me, all I can tell
you is that depending on WHO is answering this question has alot to do
with the estimate you'll receive...the estimates I believe are close to
the mark say there were millions of people here
when those colonists came, 80% of whom were dead within 200 years of
first contact, mostly through the spread of disease--disease moved cross
country faster than the colonists. Sorry I couldn't dig up the exact
numbers--I'm suppose to be studying for two exams....:)
