You seem to be asking for contemporary musicicians who are not necessarily
"Rock".

XIT ....has been around a long time....Founded by Tom Bee, Robbie's dad.
They have had numerous releases.

Robby Romero........Red Thunder available through Canyon Records, Phoenix.

Kinrawk.....with Lance, Garrett, and Curt Tailfeathers and Myron Fox

Tiger Tiger....I believe they are Seminole. Their cassette, Space Age
Indian, available from SOAR (Tom Bee's company)

Litefoot....Cherokee rap artist who has his first cassette/CD out "For My
People". Great talent. He portrayed Little Bear in the film "Indian in the
Cupboard" which thankfully was far more accurate and better than the book in
portraying an Onondaga.

Since you originally included other forms of music (Buffy and Floyd) may I
also suggest.

Buddy Red Bow.....This late country singer is one of my favorites. He was
Lakota.

Joanne Shenendoah.... an Oneida whose voice has been heard on several TV
specials.

Shania Twain.....Anishinaabe, taking the country music scene by storm.

Hope this helps...

Sandy
