There was one announcement about an important event at Harvard University
tonight, for those of you in the Boston/Cambridge area. It is being spon-
sored by the Native American Studies Program at Harvard. If anyone is
interested in that event, here's the basic info:
| Thursday, 18 January, 7-9pm
| Austin Hall West, Harvard Law School, 1515 Mass Avenue, Cambridge
| (a short walk from the Harvard T stop)
|
| The World's Indigenous Peoples' Movement 1996: What have we accomplished?
| Where are we going?
|
| For more information call 617-495-4923.
I plan to attend this event myself. If anyone plans to attend and wants
to meet up there, please drop me a note or give me a call at 617-776-0121.
Thanks to those folks who received my article on the "NativeNet slowdown"
yesterday evening and who wrote expressing their understanding and support.
Again, I may not be able to respond to everyone who writes at length, but
I want you to know that I do read everything I receive and I consider it
as carefully as possible (I've gotten some good suggestions, and plan to
tell you all about them in a forthcoming article).
Well, I have lots to do to catch up after the latest machine failure. I
may just replace the power supply for the disk drives, which are housed
in a separate box from my computer itself, since I think it's the most
likely source of the problem, even though it's under a year old.
That's all for now.
Gary
P.S. For those who wish to write to me, PLEASE use my own address, which
is "gst@gnosys.svle.ma.us" Do not simply reply to the message con-
taining this article, since doing so will submit your message to the
mailing list. Thanks.
