General Description of Work:
Responsible for developing and maintaining the AMP database. Collecting
information on data needs from users and modify files to meet growing or
changing needs of users. Keep data up-to-date and oversee day-to-day
functions of database. Oversee and coordinate with Program Manager on
organizations's needs and requirements of the program.
DUTIES:
- Designing and organizing database
- Evaluating, selecting, and modifying database software
- Maintaining and monitoring database
- Developing and implementing network procedures and security
- Consulting with and advising users
- Installing network hardware and software
- Training users
- Monitoring and evaluating network operations
- Keeping up with advances in technology
- Coordinate with Project Director in AMP activities
- Produce written and electronic documentation such as reports, graphs,
and graphics
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A master's degree in information science or business administration
preferred or a bachelor's degree in computer science or business
administration or a combination of education, training, and experience
required.
- Demonstrate skill in planning, organizing, scheduling, managing priorities
and activities.
- Sensitivity and respect for the Native American culture.
- Ability to interact with all components of the AMP Alliance, Indian and
non-Indian alike.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Ability to work cooperatively with a variety of people and provide
instruction
- Must be flexible.
- Computer skills with micro systems, database management, and spread sheets.
- Commitment and interest in math and science.
- Ability to rapidly adjust procedures to match changes in program.
