Mr President,
We want Insurance of Full Protection by your Government governing the
country of the United States of America for a delegation of Indigenous
Elders going from Australia to the United States of America.
A delegation of 8 Aboriginal Elders and People (co-ordinated by Dumbartung
an Aboriginal Organisation in Western Australia) will be leaving
Australia on 26.1.96 to travel to the United States of America to defend
our Religion and our Culture being damaged and destroyed and exploited,
which is our Basic Human Rights, by an American woman Marlo Morgan who
wrote the book 'Mutant Message Downunder'. She is becoming a rich woman
overnight by making money and at the same time damaging and destroying
and downgrading our Culture.
We ask your Government of the United States of America to give us
assurance of Full Protection because this delegation going to America is
a Peaceful Delegation.
We ask you to get in touch with the officers of your American Government
to inform them it is a peaceful delegation going in to the country to
protect our Religion and Culture and Basic Human Rights which is under
threat by this American woman Marlo Morgan and radio and TV stations and
media in America.
We are asking you as the President of the United States of America whilst
in the country run by your Government, we ask for your protection where
safety is concerned.
We ask for the Right of Freedom of Speech.

Aboriginal Elders in the US to protest movie deal
Australian Aboriginal Elders are travelling to the United States on
January 26, 1996 to meet with film makers who are in the final stages of
negotiations for a movie based on the best-selling book - 'Mutant
Message'.
"We want to block the move by Hollywood executives at
United Artists to turn Marlo Morgan's lies and distortions into a major
motion picture", says Robert Eggington, an Aboriginal activist
spearheading the trip.
