Greetings to the NATIVE-L participants,

It was with delight that I read this message this morning. It is
refreshing to read that the stance that the Aboriginal Elders took to
defend their culture against exploitation and misrepresentation has been
successful. I would hope that although the elders do not want any
compensation from Ms. Morgan that at the least her written apology be given
by Ms. Morgan herself personally on American nationwide television and that
she cover the costs of the elders preparation of their defense of their
culture and their travel expenses.

Best regards to the Aboriginal Elders, and I hope they take the opportunity
while in the States to meet and dialogue with Native American groups on
common concerns.

[ I am hoping to be able to meet with the elders when they're in
Northern California. I'll let you know if possible how they feel
about the apology, etc. --Gary (gst@bioc02.uthscsa.edu) ]
