I am not sure if this will help, but it might. Here in Canada, particular
in the province of Nova Scotia, the Micmac First Nations have established
a body which looks after our children in these circumstances. The name of the
organization is Mi'kmaq Children & Family Services and their number is
(902) 758-3553. The director's name is Joan Gloade. You may wish to
contact her. I know the laws are not the same in Canada and the U.S.,
but it may still help to know how things are acted upon here. Good Luck.
