WALK FOR THE EARTH: A JOURNEY FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS
February 24 - April 13, Everglades to Tallahassee

A 725-mile walk to call attention to Florida's threatened ecosystems.

Sponsored by the Florida Coalition for Peace and Justice (FCPJ)

The purpose of the walk is to focus attention on threats to Florida's
natural environment brought about by corporate greed, rampant growth,
public ignorance, political ineffectiveness, and ever increasing
population density.

The walk begins Feb. 24 on Hwy. 41 in the Everglades, traditional
home of the Seminole people and the ultimate water source for the
state. It will be led by Bobby C. Billy, Spiritual Leader of the
Independent Traditional Seminole Nation.

Itinerary:
Everglades, Miami, West Palm, west around Lake Okeechobbee,
Orlando, Ocala National Forest, Gainesville, Perry, Madison,
Tallahassee.

Rally:
Saturday, April 13, from 3-6 p.m. a rally on the steps of the old
Capital.

Legislative action:
Monday, April 15, visit State representatives with demands for an
end
to the pollution, contamination, unrestrained development, and
corporate control.
