You may want to access the Chattanooga Inter-Tribal Association (CITA)
website. They have a similar problem with white commercial and political
interests wanting to commercialize a large ancient burial ground and Indian
townsite with over 6000 years of continuous habitation...until the late mid
1800's. It looks like the good guys may have won and a Cultural Museum will
likely be established at Mocassin Bend with the burial areas protected from
